“Boys Love” or BL series has been trending during this lockdown, to be technical about this genre this is not just LGBTQI+ theme but rather created originally by female fan base as intrigued of male to male relationship. It is observable that the flamboyant queer doesn’t have the spotlight but more of two (2) masculine lead actors.
Nevertheless the LGBTQI+ crowd acknowledges these gender bending roles, perhaps giving more reasons to believe that there are chances for straight males to be romantically involved with the same sex.
I am happy to discover #2getherTheSeries as it trended weekly per episode on Twitter just right before midnight. Good job to GMMTV for generously sharing their content on YouTube and thus made it more accessible by partnering with ABS-CBN. I also love other productions like Dark Blue Kiss, Sotus, and a lot more!
Finally, Philippines is taking a good shot by producing Sakristan, Gameboys, Hello Stranger, In Between, and many more ( I will be sharing my reviews soon on this blog). I really hope that this will continue since admittedly, I am more surprised to discover brilliant actors who are now given breaks, this also extends to the rest of production crew thus proving that the creative industry will continue to flourish.
