Elvis follows the story of infamous rock ‘n’ roll star Elvis Presley seen through the eyes of his controversial manager Colonel Tom Parker, portrayed by multi-Academy award winner Tom Hanks. The film explores Elvis Presley’s highs and lows and the many challenges and controversies he received throughout his career.

His untimely death at age of 42 due to heart attack rocked not just Hollywood but of all people who adores his music worldwide.
Admittedly, I wasn’t able to witness his live performances but the movie depicted his energy and dedication to his craft. His success is all about his passion in music and how business can ruin a good man.
We also have seen a medical malpractice and I’m hoping that this is no longer happening since a lot of biopics have been made and exposed this kind of abuse.

Fame is truly scary if you will realize that you no longer have in control of your art. It’s also scary to lose the spotlight especially when you are used to it. It’s a familiar scene that even celebrities today can relate. I just hope more people are learning from their mishap.
Going back to the movies, Austin Butler did very well and have seen his interview. Imagine he got this most coveted role from other lead stars..

Butler began his career on television, first in roles on the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon and later on teen dramas, including recurring parts on The CW’s Life Unexpected (2010–2011) and Switched at Birth (2011–2012). He gained recognition for starring in The Carrie Diaries (2013–2014) and The Shannara Chronicles (2016–2017). He made his Broadway debut in the 2018 revival of The Iceman Cometh and played Tex Watson in Quentin Tarantino’s film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019).
Elvis is iconic and Austin got a good preparation for the role, and he Austin Butler hasn’t publicly revealed how much he was paid for the role, but according to Showbiz Galore (opens in new tab), he earned $700,000 [£581,343] for playing Elvis.
Meanwhile, according to Showbiz Galore, Hanks received a total of $8 million for playing Colonel Tom Parker, the manager of the iconic King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley. I must say that Tom was really good and deserving.
I love movies like this as we can learn so much from the lives of superstars. They’re not that much different from us, especially on how Elvis loved his mom.

Another thing to discover is that, Elvis dancing was so scandalous during his time in America
There’s a lot of people saying a lot of things. Of course you got to listen to the people that you love. But in the end, you got to listen to yourself.’ – Elvis
So watch it in HBO Go.
