Netflix Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer

Emmy-winning actor Evan Peters, 35, stars in the miniseries as Dahmer, and also features Richard Jenkins and Penelope Ann Miller as parents Lionel and Joyce Dahmer. The cast also includes Niecy Nash as Glenda Cleveland, Michael Learned as Catherine Dahmer, Molly Ringwald as Shari Dahmer.

The notorious serial killer, who grew up in Ohio’s Bath Township, is the lead character in Netflix’s “Dahmer,” a 10-episode series that explores the murders and dismemberments of 17 men and boys that happened between 1978 and 1991 at the hands of Dahmer, also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal or the Milwaukee Monster.

“The theme of this entire piece is timeless,” Nash says in a video interview given to Netflix. “You still have people doing very bizarre things because they are either mentally ill, suffering some sort of trauma, managing or not managing their pain well. You also still have communities that are being underserved, being over-policed in the wrong way. You still have communities and people crying out for change and to be heard by the police and by the powers that be — and I say that specifically as it relates to the Glenda Cleveland portion of this story because hers is a story I did not know.”

According to Variety, Ryan Murphy and his creative team have found a delicate method to approach this as Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story will be portrayed through the perspective of the boys and young men who fell victim to the sadistic killer.
