Season 2: Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938

Hi everyone! Welcome to my blog where I share my thoughts and opinions on the latest K-dramas. Today, I want to talk about one of my current favorites: Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938. This is a sequel to the hit 2020 drama Tale of the Nine Tailed, which starred Lee Dong-wook and Kim Bum as two gumiho (nine-tailed fox) brothers who live in the modern world. In this season, Lee Dong-wook’s character Lee Yeon accidentally travels back to 1938 and meets a new love interest played by Kim So-yeon. Kim Bum’s character Lee Rang also follows him to the past and gets involved in some trouble.

I’m really enjoying this drama so far. It has a lot of action, romance, comedy and mystery. The chemistry between Lee Dong-wook and Kim So-yeon is amazing, and I love how they portray their characters’ personalities and emotions. Kim Bum is also doing a great job as the rebellious and mischievous Lee Rang, who always adds some humor and excitement to the story. The other supporting actors are also very talented and fit their roles well.

The drama is also doing well in terms of ratings. According to Nielsen Korea, it has been ranking first in its time slot among cable channels since its premiere on May 6 . The latest episode (episode 4) recorded a nationwide rating of 6.682 percent and a metropolitan area rating of 7.606 percent, which are higher than the previous episode’s ratings. The drama has also been receiving positive reviews from critics and viewers alike.

One of the things that I like about this drama is that it gives us some interesting trivias about the cast and the historical setting. For example, did you know that Lee Dong-wook and Kim So-yeon have worked together before in a 2005 drama called Precious Family? They played siblings in that drama, but now they are playing lovers in Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938. How cool is that? Another trivia is that the drama is set in 1938, which was a turbulent time in Korean history. It was during the Japanese colonial rule, and there were many social and political changes happening at that time. The drama incorporates some of these historical events and figures into its plot, such as the March 1st Movement, the Korean Provisional Government, and Kim Gu.

If you haven’t watched this drama yet, I highly recommend you to check it out. It is available on Prime Video globally, so you can stream it anytime you want. It airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:20 p.m. KST on tvN. I can’t wait to see what will happen next in this thrilling and romantic tale of the nine-tailed foxes.

That’s all for today’s blog post. Thank you for reading and please leave your comments below. I would love to hear your thoughts on this drama. See you next time!
